A former New Jersey Army base may be a new $900 million production facility for Netflix

Fort Monmouth, New Jersey – Netflix, the California Bay Area-based streaming platform company is considering opening a production facility in New Jersey.

Netflix is offering $55 million the for former army base Fort Monmouth. The company has plans to invest $848 million into the 292-acre site by placing 12 soundstages and other industry-related equipment and resources.

ABC shared that Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-CEO/COO said, “We’re thrilled to continue and expand our significant investment in New Jersey and North America. We believe a Netflix studio can boost the local and state economy with thousands of new jobs and billions in economic output, while sparking a vibrant production ecosystem in New Jersey.”
